A testing par 5 to open your round, with the green approached via a dog-leg to the left. If you are feeling brave (or foolhardy!) and can hit your driver dead straight then it is possible to reach the green in two with two of the best shots you can muster. For the mere mortals, however, with trees lining the fairway on both sides and out of bounds to the left, the sensible play is to select the longest club in your bag that you can hit straight and play safely to the right side of the fairway to give you the best view of the green. Make sure of the yardage with your approach, avoiding the bunker guarding the green front left.

An interesting nuance to Penfield is we have 2 flags on some greens. Red flags denote the front nine and White flags are for the back nine.
